76% of the iPhones introduced in the last four years are already performing iOS 18, according to the new data published by Apple Toray. 19% of them are still on iOS 17 and only 5% on previous versions. Of all the iPhones still in use, 68% are on iOS 18, 19% on iOS 17 and 13% on previous versions.
63% of the iPads introduced in the last four years already have the iPados 18, compared to 27% which is located on iPados 17 and 10% on previous versions. Of all the iPads still in use, 53% are on iPados 18, 28% on iPados 17 and 19% on previous versions.
These numbers are measured by the devices that have been transaved on the App Store on 21 January. Compared to iOS 17 and iPados 17 in the same period last year, the numbers are very, very similar, practically revealing the same trajectory of adoption.
Of the iPhones introduced over the past four years at that time, 76% was in the latest version and all the iPhones ever the number was 66%. For iPad it was 61% of those introduced in the last four years and 53% of all.
You can look at these two ways and say that the speed of adoption of iOS and iPados has reached the peak, or you can compare these numbers with any manufacturer of Android devices and laugh (if you are a fan iOS) or cry (if you are an Android fan ). The choice is yours.
